Art and Therapy

Hello everyone. Today I would be simply talking about the art and therapy.

Most of us who are raised as a 90s kid or a 60s kid, art was not something which was very appreciated those times.

even today if we see, not everyone is convinced with the fact that Art itself can be a source of earning and your therapy together. In fact I think, one who earns through art, never needs a therapy to pay for. Their art is their therapy itself.

I can firmly tell this with my experience.

Many of us think, only counselling, meditation and other traditional ways can be a part of therapies. This cant be very true at times. Sometimes, a person just needs to spend time with himself doing an activity which would not just help him spend time, but which would help him channelise his energy into a direction that would show him further path, or which would channelise energy to the paths which seem blocked.

I simply do this by taking a plain paper, a black pen and some rounders and D.

Yes you have guessed it right!!! I love painting and drawing mandalas.

Mandalas have a specific energy in themselves which is so pure and so vibrant that is simply spreads positivity just by being there. The curved designs, the textures and the patterns help to channelise all our energies in a specific direction and keeps us focused. As you move ahead with the art as well, you will realize that yes!!!! somehow even you are creating a path for your thoughts which needed some direction and which needed some space to be expressed.

Thoughts are reservoir of all our emotions, everything that we feel, gets accumulated into the head in the form of thoughts, and once they start consuming too much of space in the head, we feel the weight, we feel the discomfort, we the need and urger to express them out.

And that is when art comes into picture. Art is the expression of your heart. And thoughts are the direction that would help you express your heart. Practising any kind of art, be it singing, be it dancing, be it drawing, be it anything, art acts as your therapist. It helps you open your own mind and get comfortable with your own thoughts and emotions.

For me personally, dance acts as a meditation. It may seem an odd statement, but it is true. Whenever my head and heart feels heavy, I simply dance it out, I simply let the fresh air come in the body, use it to create beautiful movements and exhale all the worries inside and also express the thoughts through movements at the same time. Isn't it a jackpot?

So try implementing this, maybe it can answer you with many doubts that you have and many worries that you feel!
