Why weekends are not suitable for a Lonavala trip.

Hi All, I'm a localite from Lonavala. I have been born and brought up here.

Apart from the seasons, the monsoon season is the craziest in Lonavala. Why would it not be? Everyone wants to the witness the purest of all airs, the lush greenery, the fog , the clouds travelling the mountains, the drizzles, the heavy rainfalls while trekking, the amazing chikki, garmagaram vadapav and what not!

But the problem comes with time management when one travels to Lonavala. Because maximum of the time is eaten up by the never ending traffic on weekends. It's a problem we all have been suffering from decades now. People still don't give up on coming to Lonavala and that what I like the most. They don't stop loving this place at all, they never give up on this nature's beauty.

So I have given few suggestions below that would help you to enjoy Lonavala more easily.

1. Avoid weekends! Weekends are crazy in Lonavala , not just the traffic but even the tourist attractions are jammed with people. You won't be able to enjoy the scenes as well. The stays are twice the usual rates. The food is same, but then you would find long waiting lines everywhere. Not to mention about the parking issues as well.

2. Start early! Begin your trip from your place as early as possible since the morning 7 to 9 am time is not very crowdy. The air is miraculous and the views are worth it with a Chai or coffee. Then you can move forwards for your breakfast or brunch. Try the local corns, bhajis and vadapav. You would love it to enjoy them with the weather. The experiene is different.

3. Two wheeler supremacy! If you are from Mumbai or Pune, don't think twice about getting your 2 wheelers here. They would help you save a loooooot of time with traffic and you will be able to cover maximum locations that you wish to visit.

4. Choose your stay wisely! Most of the times it happens that the stays that you choose are very tricky to reach, or very difficult to reach and that also consumes a lot of your time. Decide a stay which is quite remote and also which can get you to the highway and the spots that you have chosen to visit easily. Focus on a particular area and try to witness as much beauty as possible of that area. Sometimes a small village nearby and it's road along with the little hidden waterfalls nearby can make your experience unique. It's not necessary to always cover the main points. The villagers and the locals of your stay area can very much help you with this. Me being a localite myself still love to take a ride to the small villages and enjoy the empty raods, green farms, beautiful monsoon flowers and the waterfalls and rivers on the way.

That's it. I guess this much would help you all to decide and plan your trip to Lonavala with ease!
